Download your topic guide as a PDF to share before launch

A brand team wants to read the questions before the study goes live. A compliance officer needs the exact interview materials on file before anything reaches the field. A client expects the discussion guide as a document, the way agencies have always sent it. None of them have a Conveo login, and a screenshot of the study builder is hard to sign off on. Until now, sharing a guide outside Conveo meant retyping it in a document.

How it works

• Open the topic guide on the study design page and choose Download to get the PDF.

• The whole guide is in it. Sections in order, numbered questions, the question type, follow-up settings and answer options.

• Built for review. A print-ready layout, on screen or on paper, with an export timestamp on every document so you can tell versions apart.

• Send it anywhere. Email it, drop it in the project folder or attach it to an approval request.

Research teams asked for it in four situations

These come from teams we work with in consumer goods, household and health products, financial services, healthcare research, software and research agencies. We kept them anonymous.

• Stakeholder sign-off before launch. Brand and marketing teams want to read the questions, add their own and approve the guide before recruitment starts.

• Compliance and legal review. In healthcare research and other regulated categories, every interview material is submitted for approval before fielding. Reviewers want a document they can file.

• Agency client reviews. Agencies build the guide in Conveo and send their client a document to review, the same way they handle every other study.

• A record in the project folder. Teams keep a copy of exactly what was asked, next to the brief and the results.

What this means for your research

What you set up in the study builder is what the reviewer reads, in the same order, with the answer options and follow-up settings visible. Reviews outside Conveo no longer mean maintaining a second copy of the guide by hand.

Two limits to know. The PDF is a snapshot: edits still happen in Conveo, so export again after each round of changes and use the timestamp to tell versions apart. And reviewers cannot comment inside the PDF. For comments on specific questions, use topic guide comments in the platform. Since June 2026 the same Download control also offers an editable Word file for teams whose reviewers prefer to redline.
