An agency finishes a study for a client who also works in Conveo, and the client wants all of it in their own workspace: every video conversation, the question coding, the reports. Teams used to ask us to duplicate such a study into the other organization. That is hard to do well, since a study keeps growing as people take interviews, and it leaves two copies of participant data to govern. Now you can share the study itself with another organization, the way you would add an outside collaborator.

A silent walkthrough, from the share modal to the client's studies list.

How it works

  • Share the entire study. Open a study, select Share and choose Share with another organization. Pick the organization and its role, then share.

  • It lands in their list. For the receiving organization, the study appears in their studies list with a label that names the organization it lives in.

  • One study, one place. Interviews, question coding, reports, video and audio stay in the original study, and your organization keeps ownership.

  • Their work stays with the study. Chats that people in the receiving organization start are saved in that same study.

  • Change your mind. Remove the organization's access from the share modal whenever you want.

Research teams asked for it in four situations

These come from research agencies and fieldwork partners, and from client-side teams in insurance and consumer goods. We kept them anonymous.

  • Hand over the finished study. Agencies want their client to see the interviews and findings as a viewer while the agency keeps the study.

  • Keep the two sides apart. The client explores the study while the agency's own access and data stay separate.

  • Pilot results for interested teams. The teams a pilot was built for open its results and explore them directly.

  • One study, two workspaces. Client-side teams that commission an agency keep every interview and report in one shared study.

What this means for your research

You share the study once and keep one set of participant data to govern. The other organization works with the real interviews, and what they ask stays with the study. Inside your organization, the study sharing controls still decide who sees it.

Two things to know today. Cross-organization sharing is switched on per organization, and you can share only with an organization you are also a member of, so for now it is used most when the Conveo team shares a study into your workspace. And when the receiving team uses Talk to Your Data in your study, that use draws on your organization's per-user allowance, as the share modal explains before you share.

Cross-organization sharing in about three minutes

A narrated walkthrough: sharing the study, what the other team sees, and the four situations.

Filip shows it in the product

Filip Schouwenaars, who built it, shares a study and opens it on the other side. Organization and study names are blurred.
