Alex de Hemptinne joined Conveo when it still felt like a group project, and now takes enterprise teams from a first study to continuous consumer intelligence.

Alex grew up on three continents and an ocean, moved back to Europe and started her career in insights at AB InBev, then in strategy consulting at McKinsey. She joined Conveo early, sold on the team and the project, and says that on her first day it already felt like being part of a team.

As Business Impact Lead she partners with enterprise teams from their first study to full-scale rollout, moving them from project-based research to always-on programs, and carries client feedback straight into the engineering room. Her favourite moments are the aha moments, when a client sees what the method can do for a decision they have to make.

She is the most published researcher on conveo.ai, with more than fifty insights pieces on qualitative measurement, diary studies, brand equity and the economics of concept testing, and the customer stories of in-house teams at Edgar & Cooper and JDE Peet’s. In 2026 she took Conveo’s household affordability tracker, a fortnightly study across six markets, on stage at the ESOMAR Congress in Valencia and at Printemps des Études in Paris, running a live study with the audience.

Outside work, always in the mode of learning: about beer, at a bar, at a party.

My name is Alex. I grew up on three continents and an ocean. I moved back to Europe, started my career in strategy consulting, trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Met Hendrik, took a leap of faith, and decided to join Conveo about a year and a half ago. I think it was the best decision of my life.

They sold me on the project and on the team. It started off as what felt like an end-of-school-year group project: working maybe 24/7 with a group of passionate people, trying to build a product.

I joined because I wanted to join an adventure, but on my first day I felt like I was part of a team, part of building a vision, that whatever I had to say had an impact and helped shape the product. So it became my team, and then my product, and now my vision. I have the opportunity to create it, always with the mindset of what can I do to make this project bigger and bring the vision to life.

I'm kind of the master of my own job, and I get to work with some of the brightest minds I've ever met, and also the most passionate and the most caring.

My favorite moments have been those aha moments when the clients understand what we're doing and how I can bring value to them. It wasn't even a concept they could tangibly understand until they see it. That to me has been incredible.

What I like to do outside of work: always in the optic of learning. Learning about beer, at a bar, at a party. Always with people, or reading a book.

Bring Alex into your next study.

Book a demo, tell us what you need to learn, and the research team scopes it with you. Or run a test interview on Conveo first.
