What organization personas are

Organization personas are reusable audience profiles available from Personas in your organization’s navigation. Use them to describe a customer type and explore that profile’s perspective through AI chat. The capability must be enabled for your organization. It is separate from Study personas, which are generated and classified from a particular study’s interviews. Creating an organization persona does not itself collect evidence or classify a study’s participants.

Create a profile

  1. Open Personas and select Create Persona.
  2. Enter a Name, Subtitle, and Description. The description supports Markdown. Explain the profile’s motivations, behavior, needs, and the research on which those characteristics are based.
  3. Add optional Demographics as named fields and values, such as Region: Belgium. Include only attributes you intend the persona to use.
  4. Select Create Persona and review the resulting profile.
Names are limited to 100 characters and subtitles to 200 characters. Choose a name that is not already used by another persona in the organization. A written profile expresses the assumptions and evidence you supply. A detailed profile or generated portrait is not proof that a matching audience segment exists.

Explore the profile through chat

Select Chat beside the persona. Opening chat normally resumes your most recent conversation with that persona; you can start a new conversation from the chat interface when you want a separate discussion. Ask questions such as “What would make this service difficult for you to use?” Treat the result as a way to explore hypotheses and prepare research questions. Persona chat uses the current profile’s name, description, characteristics, and conversation context. It does not search your organization’s interview transcripts to verify each answer. Generated responses, including reactions to new ideas or images, are simulated perspectives rather than newly collected participant evidence. Verify research claims in their original sources.

Edit or remove a profile

Use the persona’s image menu to edit its name, subtitle, description, or demographic fields. Select Save Changes after editing. Profile edits can affect subsequent chat responses. Existing conversation messages remain a record of what was generated earlier; editing the profile does not rewrite them. Start a new conversation when earlier messages rely on assumptions you have changed. Delete Persona removes the profile and its associated chats. Save any material you need before confirming deletion.

Access and limitations

  • Viewing personas and starting text chat require sign-in and organization read access.
  • Creating and editing profiles require organization write access.
  • Deleting a persona requires organization management permission.
  • Organization persona access does not imply that every optional persona feature is available in your account.
Keep persona dialogue clearly labeled when sharing it. Use Study personas for profiles derived from one study and Talk to your data to investigate actual interview evidence.
