Conveo rates completed interviews on two separate scores from 1 to 10, each with a written justification. Scores appear in the Quality column of the interview grid and on the interview detail page.

What gets scored

Response quality

A reasoning model reads the full transcript against the study’s questions and rates how thoughtfully and relevantly the participant answered.

Video professionality

Frames from the start, middle and end of the recording are checked for whether the participant is visible, framed and lit. This score is not calculated for studies where participants spend most of the interview off camera, such as shopper logs or in-home ethnographies where the camera points mainly at their surroundings.

The overall score

The Quality column blends both scores into one number, weighted 70/30 toward response quality. Task-based studies have no video professionality score, so the Quality score is based on response quality alone. Scores are labelled on the same scale:

How to use quality scores

The quality score is a first indicator, and you always make the final call on what to remove. See Monitoring fieldwork for deciding on exclusions, and Reviewing interviews for transcript corrections and hiding.
