Pricing questions collect structured price responses inside a Conveo interview. Use the follow-up conversation to understand the reasons behind a participant’s price expectations. Pricing is marked Research preview. Review the first-use notice in the designer. Both methods are available for main-interview questions, not screener questions.

Choose a method

Select Pricing in a question’s type selector, then choose the method in its editor. Describe the same product, package size, service period, and purchase context for everyone whose answers you intend to compare. A price for one item cannot be compared directly with a monthly subscription without a clear common basis.

Configure currencies

The Currency controls support Single and Multiple:
  • Single: every participant answers in the selected currency.
  • Multiple: an earlier single-answer question or classified Open text answer determines the currency. Map its options or categories to currencies and set a Default currency.
If the source is unanswered or the selected value has no mapping, the default currency is used. Currency selection does not itself skip the question. Use question routing separately when a participant should not receive it. Available currencies are USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, CHF, JPY, SEK, NOK, DKK, BRL, and INR. Price precision follows the selected currency. For Gabor–Granger, configure a separate price ladder for every currency participants can receive; the numbers are not automatically converted from one ladder into another.

Review results

Open Question Coding to inspect the method’s charts and the underlying responses. Compare segments and currencies deliberately. A converted cross-currency view is different from the prices participants actually stated. Both methods display low-sample cautions below 30 valid respondents. Passing that threshold is not a guarantee that a sample represents a market or supports every subgroup comparison.

Changing a pricing question

The pricing method cannot be changed after a non-test participant has answered it. Duplicate the question to use a different method while preserving the meaning of collected responses. Gabor–Granger also locks a currency’s ladder after a participant answers it; see the ladder editing limits.

Test and interpret carefully

Run a full test interview, including each currency path and follow-up conversation, before launch. Resolve validation errors before recruiting. These methods measure stated responses to the scenario you describe. They do not guarantee actual purchases, an optimal business price, or future revenue. Review the method-specific limitations and supporting qualitative evidence before making a pricing decision.
